The team presented its work at Lund International Rotary Club, sharing the school lunch programme, library, water tank and uniforms. Members asked questions and made donations after the presentation.
At its August meeting, JODA’s board discussed support for new Grade 1 pupils in 2027, including lunches and first uniforms. More sports equipment, books and uniforms for pupils already receiving lunches are also planned as funding allows.
JODA visited Helsingborg Sofiero Rotary Club to share how the school project began, what has been completed at Prisons Comprehensive School and how supporters can help it grow.

The lunch programme grew from 32 to 40 pupils. During a recent visit, the team met children receiving meals and checked the list of pupils supported by the programme.

Local craftspeople helped build the school’s first library. Its first collection of books was purchased, and pupils have begun using the new space.
The new rainwater tank is ready to use at the school, helping provide water for pupils and staff.
With pupils on holiday, JODA began planning the water tank and library. Donations received in December helped fund the tank, while the team prepared to work with local craftspeople.
After uniforms were provided and another eleven children joined the lunch programme, pupils wrote 31 thank-you letters to the team.
Supporters helped JODA expand free daily school lunches to 32 pupils at Prisons Comprehensive School.
The school uniforms were delivered as pupils returned after a long break.
A local tailor visited the school in July to take measurements for pupils’ new uniforms. JODA’s team member Josephine coordinated the work in Nakuru.
JODA began helping Prisons Comprehensive School provide lunch to 21 children who could not afford the school’s meal programme. The project aims to support attendance and learning.
After a request from the headteacher of Nagis Primary School, JODA provided uniforms for around ten pupils. The project was completed a few weeks later.
